Student Terms and Conditions

INTRODUCTION
This document contains important information about the contract between you and the Community Music (the “University”) which will be formed if you accept an offer to study at the University (the “Terms”).
The contract will contain legal rights and obligations for you and the University. You should take time to read this document carefully before you accept an offer of a place on a course as the contract will become legally binding on you and us at that point, including your obligation to pay course fees and to comply with our regulations, policies and procedures.

Terms & Conditions – Introduction to Music Technology & Production
Bookings and cancellations
1. Course bookings can be made on this website. If you wish to book a course on less than 24 hours' notice, please call Community Music direct to check availability on 02073770621.
By booking, you agree that:
2. You will abide by the rules and regulations as set out in the student handbook at all times whilst in attendance. This is available on our website.
3. You will arrive 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time of your lesson. We cannot accommodate arrivals after the scheduled start time, even if you call ahead. The teacher may not be able to repeat any health and safety information explained at the beginning of the lesson and may not be able to provide a second demonstration for what you have missed without having an impact on other learners. We cannot refund or rebook any late arrivals.
4. You will not attend if you have been ill or become ill in the 48 hours before your session with any diseases e.g. colds and flu; diarrhea, vomiting; and other infections. This is to protect all our students and staff as these sorts of illnesses can be spread quickly.
5. You will not consume any alcohol or drugs on the premises. You may be refused admission if we suspect that you are under the influence of alcohol or any other substance, are ill with a communicable disease or that you are engaging in inappropriate behavior.
6. We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to remove any participant whose behavior is disruptive or inappropriate or that we suspect is under the influence of alcohol or any other substance. You shall be held responsible for any loss of, or damage to our property that you cause.
7. You may be photographed and/or filmed during your lesson and Community Music may use your name and any photographs and/or recordings featuring you, and may cut, edit and adapt the same as necessary, for use in Community Music, at external promotional events or teaching sessions, and on Community Music website, for promotional uses, by means of any and all media, worldwide and in perpetuity.
8. Without exception, you will indemnify and hold us and our employees harmless from all responsibility for any loss of personal property whilst at Community Music, or for any injuries or damages you sustain or, or that anyone affiliated with or connected with you in any way may sustain, in connection with participating in sessions at Community Music, save where such injuries or damages arise as a result of our negligence;
9. Our liability to you shall not exceed the total price charged for any sessions/courses booked. Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes our liability to you for personal injury or death caused by our negligence.
Cancellation and refunds
In the event that you cancel your booking in full, our refund policy is as follows:
10. Your course place will only become secured on payment of the deposit specified on your application form. This must be paid at the time of submitting your application form. If your application is not successful your deposit will be refunded to you in full.
11. If you need to cancel a course booking you should email everyone@cmsounds.com at least 14 days before your course is due to start to secure a full refund of any deposit paid.
12. If you give us 14 day’s notice or more of cancellation prior to the course start date, we will refund 100% of your deposit payment.
13. If you give us less than 14 days’ notice your deposit is not refundable.
Fees Payment
14. On payment of deposit, you become liable for the full tuition fee of your chosen course as stated on your application.
15. Tuition fees should be paid through our online payment system on our website. We do not accept cash payments.
16. Bank transfers are accepted in exceptional circumstances and only if agreed in advance. Please email everyone@cmsounds.com if you would like to pay by bank transfer.
17. Once a deposit is paid, you can spread the remaining tuition fees over 11 equal monthly payments or in one single payment. This must be set up on the online payment system on our website. Monthly payments are not accepted by bank transfer.
18.Introduction to Music Technology and Production monthly payments: £24.60 deposit plus 11 monthly payments of £24.60.
Refunds for withdrawal.
19. If you are unable to continue with your course you must notify us at your earliest possible convenience by emailing everyone@cmsounds.com.
20. If you withdraw within two weeks of the start date of your course, you will only be liable for 50% of the total tuition fee for that particular course.
21. If you withdraw more than more than two weeks after the start date of your course, you will be liable to pay 100% of the tuition fee for that particular course unless you can provide us with evidence of extenuating circumstance which prevented your continuation on the course. This would include medical records (i.e. doctor’s note), written evidence of employment or bereavement, or documentary evidence of other serious mitigating circumstance which prevented your continuation on the course. These will be considered ad a decision made at the discretion of Community Music.
22. Further to point 21, Should your extenuating circumstances be accepted, you will become liable for only 50% of the course fees. Re-enrolling on the course at a later date is possible and will be considered on a case by case basis.
23. Certificates of completion and accreditation will only be released on full payment of tuition fees.
24. Community Music reserves the right to remove or exclude you from the course at any time in accordance with the terms above (particularly but not solely in accordance with points 3 and 6). In this instance, you will remain liable to pay full tuition fees.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
